How to Set Up Your Arka Doorsound Door Sensor

The Arka Doorsound is a fully programmable door sensor designed to enhance security and convenience. With customizable features like time delay (how long after the door is left open), alarm duration, and alarm sound level, the Arka Doorsound offers flexibility for your specific needs. It connects to your home WiFi and sends real-time text messages and push notifications.

Written Instructions

App-Based Setup

1. Download the App: Get the "Arka Innovation" app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
2. Register a New User: Open the app and create a new account.
3. Add a New Device: On the home screen, press the "+" sign to add a new device.
4. Enter Device Serial Number: Find the serial number on the sticker on your device and enter it to register your device.
5. Name Your Device: After validation, enter a display name (this name will appear in alerts and notifications). Select the device's use case and tap Continue.
6. Configure Settings:
• Review the suggested settings (pre-configured options for time delay, alarm duration, and volume).
• If you accept these, enter your 10-digit phone number (no spaces, dashes, or country code) and tap Accept Settings.
• To customize settings, select Enter My Own Settings and follow these steps:
• Select the features you’d like to enable.
• Enter the time delay value (in seconds).
• Set the alarm duration (in seconds).
• Choose the alarm volume level (Quiet, Low, Medium, High – up to 85 dB).
• Enable desired notification types (e.g., push notifications, text alerts).
• Repeat these steps for any additional alert triggers.
7. Prepare the Device:
• Place your phone/tablet and the Arka Doorsound sensor near your WiFi router.
• Insert two new AAA batteries and close the back lid.
• Allow location permissions in the app.
8. Verify Blue Light: Ensure the device’s blue light is steady and tap Continue in the app.
9. Connect to WiFi:
• Confirm the WiFi name displayed in the app.
• Enter your WiFi password and tap Submit.
• Allow the app to connect to the "arka" network and the local device network.
10. Finish Setup: The app will verify the connection. Once complete, you’ll see a Congratulations screen.

Manual WiFi Setup (Bypassing the App)

If you prefer to set up the device manually:

1. Insert the Batteries: Ensure the magnet is away from the sensor, and the blue light remains steady.
2. Connect to the "arka" Network:
• Go to your phone’s WiFi settings and connect to the network named "arka" (no password required).
• If you see warnings like "No internet," ignore them for now.
3. Open a Web Browser:
• Launch a browser (e.g., Safari, Chrome) and type 192.168.4.1 in the address bar.
4. Configure WiFi:
• Tap the Configure WiFi button.
• Select your home WiFi network from the list, enter the password, and tap Save.
5. Verify Connection:
• The device’s light will turn orange and then off if successful. A red light indicates a connection issue.
• Upon success, you’ll hear a single beep, signaling that the device is operational.

Mounting the Device

After setup, mount the device on your door using the instructions provided in the app or the video on our Youtube channel. Test to ensure the device works according to your settings.
